“Say, Shuuha… If your tiny legs could keep up with me, we just might be lucky to see the next sunrise!”

Out of concern when Hiroshi went to investigate the strange noise that occurred after the group goes inside the mansion, Naoki suggested a Buddy System— no one is allowed to be left alone when they go around the mansion for exploring. Also, it’s his excuse to finally spend some time alone with Hiroshi… which is very fortunate considering what happened to the rest of the group afterwards. After reuniting with everyone, Naoki’s Buddy System becomes implemented to the group.

In my opinion, a group splitting up for investigation is a very dangerous option ESPECIALLY if you know there’s a monster running around the area. Sticking together seems to be a favorable option to me.

I’m sorry about the perspective. It’s one of the things I can’t draw well. And I haven’t drawn Naoki in a while ;)

Concept Art for that Ao Oni fangame I’m dreaming of doing. I’m not gonna do it, because I really CAN’T.

Having a sprite character visibly follow the player around is completely possible in RPGMaker VX. The script is called the “Caterpillar”. The game “One Night” used this feature and it makes things quite believable. However, you can’t interact with them. They just follow you around— that’s the limitation of it. But I don’t need any further interaction with other characters anyway, unless it’s a cutscene.
